🌱 Our Four Weeks Together
Each week combines self-paced learning, guided reflection, honest conversation, and practical action you can carry into your everyday life in Japan.

Week 1: Navigating Change With Curiosity
Understand the Transition You’re Experiencing

Explore how change can affect your emotions, expectations, routines, and sense of confidence—even when many parts of life in Japan are going well. You’ll notice what is energizing you, what may be challenging you, and how you can respond with greater curiosity, self-compassion, and intention.

Week 2: Building Meaningful Connections
Belonging Doesn’t Just Happen—It’s Built

Explore what helps relationships and a sense of belonging grow. You’ll consider friendships, workplace relationships, community involvement, and practical ways to create connection across differences in language, culture, distance, or familiarity.

Week 3: Supporting Your Wellbeing
Create Practices That Support the Life You’re Building

Reflect on what restores and drains you as you navigate life in Japan. You’ll explore rest, routines, boundaries, stress, and support—and identify practical ways to care for your mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing so you have the energy to participate more fully in the experiences that matter to you.

Week 4: Making the Most of the Months Ahead
Turn Your Reflections Into an Action Plan

Bring together what you’ve discovered and decide what you want to prioritize next. You’ll identify the relationships you want to nurture, the experiences you want to pursue, and the routines that will support you—then complete your personalized JETThrive Field Guide and action plan for the months ahead.

You won’t leave with every moment planned. You’ll leave with clearer priorities, practical tools, and a personalized action plan to help you make the most of your time in Japan.

The program is designed for current JET Programme participants who want to approach their time in Japan with greater connection, wellbeing, and intention.

Not at all. Thriving Through Transition is designed both for participants navigating difficult seasons and for those who feel energized, curious, and ready to be more intentional about their time in Japan.
You don’t need to be in crisis or have a particular problem to solve. You simply need to be interested in reflecting on what matters to you and taking meaningful steps toward the experience you hope to create.

Do I need to attend all four live sessions?
We encourage you to attend as many sessions as possible because conversation, shared reflection, and connection with other current JET participants are important parts of the experience.
However, we understand that school schedules, travel, and everyday life do not always cooperate. The instructional portions of each session will be recorded and made available through your JETThrive dashboard. Small-group and personal conversations may not be recorded in order to protect participant privacy.

How much time should I plan for each week?
Each live session is 90 minutes. You’ll also complete seven self-paced online lessons across the four-week program and explore practical activities between sessions.
